The Infinity Breath

“The breath is the meeting place of the body, mind & spirit” - Swami Nirmalananda Giri

.

Breath creates the space to hear ourselves think clearly, to hear our heart. It oxygenates our body, calms our nervous system, and allows us to step back, observe, listen, and tune in. It reminds us we’re alive, tethering us to the present moment. ✨
.

A beautiful breathwork tool I learned from my mentor is called the infinity breath. Simply sit in a comfortable position, back straight and feel flat on the floor. Breathe in through your nose, inflating your full chest, back and belly, and counting to 7. At the 8th count, pause and hold your breath. Then begin counting to 7 again, releasing your breath through the mouth, making sure to push the air out of the belly, back & lungs. At the 8th count, pause and hold your breath. Then repeat 3-5 times. See how you feel. This tool is helpful during challenging moments, as well as when you’re about to enjoy a meal. ✨
.

I know a lot of us are going through a lot right now, having tough conversations, assessing our viewpoints, and diving deep. No matter where you are or what you’re going through, this tool is a keeper! Be love, in whatever way that feels natural to you. And don’t forget to breathe. 💛
